superbike and 600 production #10 overall, #3 1998 600 4hr AFM Endurance

Residence: San Francisco, California
Age: 30
When Im not going huge Im
(hobbys,
outside career goals)
Mountain Biking, Flying planes, riding motocross, photography.
What tunes get you psyched?
Rage Against the Machine.
What is your Favorite place to shred,
climb
?
Highway 1, Mt. Tamalpies , Marin, California.
Where is your favorite place to kick
back, relax and forget about everything?
Baja California, Mexico.
At what age did you begin your sport?
7
What was your worst sport related
injury, and how did you get it?
Dislocated my big toe on my left foot on my mountainbike.
What was your biggest influence that
got you where you are now?
That "Sunday Morning Ride" HWY1, Marin, Ca.
What pisses you off?
Motorcycle cops with radar guns.
In what ways has the popularity of
extreme sports changed the way you operate?
You have to train harder because the level of competition gets better
every year.
What types of actions and attitudes
are going to effect your sport in positive ways?
We all need to stand together on safety issues to make this sport
as safe as possible. Its too easy for teams to call the shots,
but if all the riders stay strong the changes will be made
There must be some negative issues surrounding
you sport (i.e. safety, land management). What sticks out in your
mind, and do you have any suggestions to control or minimize these
circumstances?
Rider safety is a major concern at tracks like "Sears Point",
"Firebird" etc, theres not a lot of room for mistakes.
If you blow the wrong corner you could hit a wall
there is
no runoff. Promoters dont care as much about motorcycle races
as car races, because there is less publicity and smaller crowds,
which means less profit.
What do you see in your future and where would
you like to see your sport be at in 5 to 10 years?
I feel that Im getting better all the time. Ive tried
to keep myself on a gradual learning curve since I started racing.
I can see myself racing for years to come, and have met some of
my best friends through racing. As far as the sport
I would
like to see some more T.V. coverage, and more sponsors support racing.
As it is now, if you dont have a factory ride, you are battling
for 20th
If you could relate one idea to the world, related
to your sport or not, what would it be?
One thing I have noticed about racing is that if somebody needs
help a lot of riders pitch in to help each other. Whether it is
one of your competitors, or a stranger most of the guys are willing
to lend you a hand if you need it.
