The next day we will depart Valdez for home. Five days was enough to fulfill our goals, and enough to convince us all that we want more. Two of the Go Huge riders have been here to heli-board several times. They spoke of the grandeur of the Chugach range and the feeling of untouched slopes, five thousand feet of vertical, deep light powder and butterfly causing helicopter rides, but words don’t do the adventure justice. The small morsel of Alaska that revealed itself to us was an immensely majestic wonderland. It holds the power to awe, to refresh your sense of being alive and to kill the unaware or unlucky. It is a place to go to enhance or renew ones appreciation for being alive, and for having the senses to perceive the potential that is held within it’s snowy landscapes and frozen waterways. Of course, the hand of man has taken its toll in many ways, but, where hasn’t it. The truth remains and is supported by these words and images. Alaska is unique and deserves a first hand opportunity to change the way you, the reader, perceive every adventure and challenge that you invite.
